# Creating, managing and deleting Airtable workspaces

## What is an Airtable workspace?

A workspace is a collection of bases that are shared among a group of collaborators. All [Airtable plans](/docs/airtable-plans) are connected to individual workspaces, not accounts.

## Creating workspaces in Airtable

To create a workspace:

1. Open your [Airtable home screen](https://airtable.com/).
2. Click **+** **Create** in the lower-left corner.

## Renaming your workspace

To rename your workspace:

1. Open your [Airtable account overview](https://airtable.com/account).
2. Select the workspace you want to rename from the "Workspace settings” section.
3. Click the … icon in the upper-right corner.
4. Click **Rename workspace**and enter your new workspace name.

## Deleting workspaces in Airtable

> Note
> 
> Items in your [workspace trash](/docs/base-trash) can be restored for 30 days before being permanently removed.
> 
> Enterprise Scale plan admins can [customize their workspace trash retention period](/docs/creating-and-managing-data-retention-policies-in-airtable#customizing-trash-retention-timeframe-in-airtable) in the admin panel, allowing them to choose between 30, 60, 90, and 180 days.

To delete a workspace:

1. Open your [Airtable home screen](https://airtable.com/).
2. Select the workspace you want to delete from the “Workspaces” section.
3. Click the **…** icon in the upper-right corner.
4. Click **Delete workspace**.
5. Click **Delete workspace** to confirm your choice.
