# Creating, canceling, and deleting your Airtable account

> [!CAUTION]
> Note
>
> Business and Enterprise Scale plan admins can [manage their workspace plans in the admin panel](/v1/docs/users-airtable-enterprise-admin-panel).

## Creating an Airtable account

To create an Airtable account:

1. Go to [https://airtable.com/signup.](https://airtable.com/signup.)
2. Enter your email address, SSO, Google credentials, or Apple ID.
3. Click **Continue** and follow the on-screen instructions.

## Canceling your Airtable plan

Because Airtable bills per workspace rather than per account, workspace Owners need to remove the payment method from each workspace ([Team and Business plans](/docs/airtable-plans)) before deleting their accounts to ensure they aren’t billed after the workspace’s billing period ends.

To remove a payment method from your workspace:

1. Open your [Airtable account overview](https://airtable.com/account).
2. Select the workspace with the payment method you want to add, update, or remove from the "Workspace settings” section.
3. Click **Remove** from the “Payment details” section.

## What should I do before deleting my Airtable account?

If you are the only Owner of a workspace(s), you may need to [transfer ownership of the workspace(s).](/docs/transferring-ownership-in-airtable#transferring-workspace-ownership-to-another-account-in-airtable) To delete those workspaces, bases, or interfaces, you must remove all shared users from each one and then delete your account.

To delete those workspaces, bases, or interfaces, you must [remove all shared users](/docs/managing-billable-collaborators-from-your-airtable-account) from each surface and then delete your account.

## Deleting your Airtable account

To delete your account via airtable.com or the Airtable desktop app:

1. [Remove the payment method](/docs/airtable-invoices-and-receipts-overview#how-do-i-add-update-or-remove-a-workspace-plan-payment-method) connected to any workspace plans. ([Team and Business plans](/docs/airtable-plans))
2. [Transfer workspace ownership](/docs/transferring-ownership-in-airtable#transferring-workspace-ownership-to-another-user-account) to another collaborator where you are the sole owner. ([Owners with workspace, base, and interface collaborators](/docs/transferring-airtable-workspace-base-and-interface-ownership).)
3. Open your [Airtable account overview](https://airtable.com/account).
4. Click **Delete** **your Airtable user account**.
5. Click **Yes, confirm deletion of my account**.

## FAQs

**How do I cancel my subscription while keeping my account active?**

You can cancel your paid plan subscription by [downgrading your workspace](https://support.airtable.com/docs/changing-your-airtable-workspace-plan#changing-your-workspace%E2%80%99s-plan) to the Free plan while continuing to keep an active Airtable account.

**How do I delete my Airtable account via the Airtable iOS app?**

1. [Remove the payment method](/docs/workspace-settings-page-overview#confirming-updating-or-removing-a-workspaces-payment-method) connected to any workspace plans. ([Team and Business plans](/docs/airtable-plans))
2. [Transfer workspace ownership](/docs/transferring-ownership-in-airtable#transferring-workspace-ownership-to-another-user-account) to another collaborator where you are the sole owner. **Can I delete my Airtable account via the Airtable Android app?**

No. Deleting or canceling Airtable accounts via our Android app is not available.

**What happens to my shared workspaces and bases after I delete my account?**

If your workspaces or bases are shared with other people, deleting your account will not delete those workspaces and bases.

To delete those workspaces or bases, you must [remove all shared users](/docs/managing-billable-collaborators-from-your-airtable-account#adding-and-removing-billable-workspace-collaborators) from each one and then delete your account. Alternatively, you can [share / transfer ownership of a workspace](/v1/docs/transferring-ownership-in-airtable) with another user and then remove yourself from that workspace.

**I don’t remember signing up. How do I delete my account?**

1. Open [https://airtable.com/login](https://airtable.com/login).
2. Enter the email address that you believe is associated with an Airtable account.
3. Click **Continue**.
4. Click **Forgot password?** and follow the recovery flow.
  1. After completing the recovery flow and signing in, you can [delete your account](/docs/deleting-your-airtable-account#deleting-your-airtable-account).

**Why don't I see the "Delete your Airtable user account" option in my Airtable account overview?**

If you don’t have the "Delete your Airtable user account" option in your account overview:

- Your account may be part of a Business or Enterprise Scale plan managed by admins at your organization.
  - Contact your team’s enterprise admin for additional support.
- You are the only Owner of a workspace with collaborators on a [self-serve Business plan](/docs/airtable-plans#business-plans-selfserve).
  - After [transferring workspace ownership](/docs/transferring-ownership-in-airtable#transferring-workspace-ownership-to-a-collaborator) to another collaborator, you can delete your Airtable account.
