The Google Hangouts block is part of Airtable Blocks, a Pro plan feature. Blocks let you extend the functionality of your bases: you can use blocks to bring new information into Airtable, visualize and summarize your records in colorful ways, and even directly integrate your Airtable bases with your favorite apps.
The Google Hangouts block creates a button with a unique link that everyone on your team can use to jump onto a group video chat. With just one click, you can run a daily standup, have an ad-hoc meeting, or check in with someone who's working from home.
Once you've added the Google Hangouts block, there are no additional settings to adjust: the block creates a button with a unique link that your collaborators can click to open up a dedicated Google Hangout video chat room.
The Google Hangouts block is similar to the appear.in block, but the appear.in block can be set to open directly inside the Airtable Blocks dashboard, whereas the Google Hangouts block will always open a new window.
