This article covers some of the core features of the grid view for Android devices. You can view more articles about our Android and iOS apps here.
Views are different ways of looking at the data in a table. You can save your views, meaning you can have unique settings for the order of records and fields, and filters that will allow you to see just the records which fit particular criteria. This makes it easier to see relevant records quickly once you've accumulated a lot of records. The controls for changing the views are located toward the top of the table.
View records
Using your touch screen you can scroll horizontally across records to view other fields. You can press and hold a record to drag and drop it in a different order (unless you have specific sorting criteria toggled on).
Filter
You can apply a filter to a view in order to only see a certain subset of records. To start, tap the “Filter” button at the top of the screen, then tap “Add filter”. You can then choose a field to filter by as well as the filter criteria. Once you’ve configured the filter you can choose whether or not to keep the records filtered (which will automatically filter your table based on record changes).
Sort
If you want to sort your records in a certain order, tap the “Sort” button, then “Create new sort”. You can then apply your filter criteria and choose whether or not to keep the records sorted (which will automatically adjust the sorting order based on record changes).
Search
Use the built in search (at the top of the screen) to find records in your table.
Group
We recently released the ability to group records in the grid view. With this feature you can create and manage groups of records on your Android device.
