Managing extensions in Airtable

To manage an extension:

  1. Open your Airtable home screen.

  2. Open the base where you want to manage an extension.

  3. Click Tools in the upper-right corner.

  4. Click Extensions.

  5. Click the dropdown next to the name of an extension that you want to manage.

  6. The settings window allows you to manage the following options:

    1. Rename extension

    2. Edit extension

    3. Share an extension

    4. Manage its settings

    5. Reload the extension

    6. View the extension’s description (About this extension)

    7. Duplicate the extension

    8. Move the extension

    9. Disable the extension

    10. Delete the extension

To bulk manage extensions:

  1. Open your Airtable home screen.

  2. Open the base where you want to manage an extension.

  3. Click Tools in the upper-right corner.

  4. Click Extensions.

  5. Click the dropdown arrow next to the name of the dashboard.

  6. Click Manage extensions.

Viewing extensions

  1. Open your Airtable home screen.

  2. Open the base where you want to view an extension.

  3. Click Tools in the upper-right corner.

  4. Click Extensions.

  5. Here, you will find a dashboard of one or more extensions.

    1. If there is more than one dashboard of extensions, then you can switch to another extensions dashboard by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the name of the dashboard and selecting a different dashboard.

    2. You can also expand an individual extension to fill the whole screen by hovering over that extension and clicking the expand button.

Rearranging extensions

You can either rearrange extensions by moving them within the same dashboard or into another dashboard.

Moving an extension within the same dashboard:

  1. From the extensions dashboard, click the dropdown arrow next to the name of the dashboard.

  2. Hover over the extension and click the six dot icon.

  3. Drag and drop the extension into your preferred location within the dashboard.

Moving an extension to another dashboard:

  1. From the extensions dashboard, click the dropdown arrow next to the name of the extension you want to move.

  2. Click Move to another dashboard.

  3. Click the dropdown menu and click another dashboard or click Create a new dashboard…

  4. Click Move extension.

Creating and modifying dashboards

To add a new dashboard:

  1. Open your Airtable home screen.

  2. Open the base where you want to view an extension.

  3. Click Tools in the upper-right corner.

  4. Click Extensions.

  5. On the left of the dashboard, you'll see the name of your current dashboard. Click the dropdown arrow to the right of the name, and click + Add a dashboard.

To rename or delete a dashboard, click on the three dot icon near the + Add an extension button. Click Rename dashboard or Delete dashboard.

Managing all base extensions

The extensions management window allows base Owners and Creators to:

  • Disable or enable extensions (Bulk enabling extensions is also possible)

  • Add new extensions

  • Search for existing extensions

  • See the Extension name, Extension type, Dashboard location, Added by, Added on, and Status for each extension within the base

  • Rename an extension, edit an extension's description, learn more about an extension, duplicate an extension, move an extension to another dashboard, and delete an extension.

To see and manage all of the extensions in a base:

  1. Click on Tools in the upper-right corner of the base where you want to create the extension.

  2. Click the Extensions option.

  3. Click the drop-down next to the name of the dashboard.

  4. Click Manage extensions. This will open the extensions management window.

To bulk enable disabled extensions:

  1. From the extensions management window. click the checkbox next to any of the disabled extensions you would like to enable and

  2. Then click the "Enable x extensions" button in the upper-right portion of the window.

  3. Additional options can be found by clicking the "..." three-dot icon to the far right of each extension.
