What can I get help with in an Ask an Expert session?

Ask an Expert sessions help you overcome workflow roadblocks with live, one-on-one support. These sessions are designed to deepen your understanding of Airtable and show you how to apply key concepts while building apps, automations, and scalable workflows.

Product area:

Airtable experts can help as you:

Airtable AI

  • Learn how to use Omni to build interfaces, automations, and even entire bases for you.

  • Configure AI Field Agents within your workflows.

  • Get started adding AI steps to your automations.

Interfaces

  • Start creating a scalable interface for use on an existing data structure.

  • Learn new interface features that make building an interface efficient.

  • Configure interface elements.

  • Validate or provide input on what you have built or are planning to build.

Automations

  • Troubleshoot existing automations.

  • Create new automations.

  • Discuss the structure (logic and sequencing) of automations within your workflow.

  • Help consolidate automations when you are hitting your automation limit within a base.

Formulas

  • Customize a reusable formula to help meet your needs.

  • Support building out simple formulas.

  • Get started on complex formulas by building their logic, structure, and outline.

Airtable base sync

  • Connect bases through one-way, two-way, and/or multi-source syncs.

  • Activate workflows in your destination base once the sync is set up (e.g. an automation or formulas that relate to the synced data).

  • Consolidate tables to create a high-level view of your data for reporting.

Special Considerations: Syncing tables to bases requires creator access to all relevant bases. Builder participants should have the following permissions:

  • Creator level access to both the source and destination bases.

  • A sync enabled share view link provided by a creator from the source base.

  • Colleague with creator-level access to the source and destination bases.

Native integrations (Syncs + Automations)

  • Configure a sync from a supported third-party platform.

  • Configure and test automations using native integrations.

  • Create automations using native integrations.

Special Considerations: Prior to the session, you should ensure you have the necessary login credentials, IT approval to use the integration and that it has been enabled by an Airtable admin.

FAQs

How long are Ask an Expert sessions? Can I discuss multiple topics in one session?

Ask an Expert sessions are 40 minutes long. To make the most of your time, we recommend focusing on one primary topic per session. Before your session, please ensure that any necessary base or workspace settings are enabled, you have the required permissions and account access, and you’re prepared with any relevant context or information. This helps our experts support you more effectively.

What are the technical requirements for an Ask an Expert session?

Ask an Expert sessions are hosted over Zoom, which is free to download for both desktop and mobile. We recommend using a device with a working microphone and screen sharing capabilities to collaborate effectively during your session.

How do I book Ask an Expert sessions?

Enterprise Legacy and Enterprise Scale customers with Ask an Expert access can book sessions Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST. If you are not an account administrator, we recommend checking with your admin to confirm that using a session credit aligns with your team’s plan and priorities.

Something is broken in my base! Can I meet with someone right now?

Ask an Expert sessions are not intended for emergency support or same-day booking. If you're experiencing a critical issue, we recommend contacting Airtable Support. For general troubleshooting or feature guidance, the Help Center is a great resource to explore while you wait for your scheduled session.

How do I purchase Ask an Expert Bundles or Premium Support?

If you're interested in purchasing Ask an Expert bundles or upgrading to Premium Support, please reach out to your Airtable account executive. If you're not sure who your account executive is, contact Airtable Support and we’ll help connect you with the right person.

Can someone build my base or workflow for me?

Ask an Expert sessions are designed to provide live guidance and support while you build in Airtable — not to build solutions for you. If you're looking for hands-on help where someone builds your base or workflow on your behalf, we recommend reaching out to your Airtable account executive to explore options. They can connect you with our Professional Services team or a trusted partner from our certified network who can support your specific needs.

Can I cancel or reschedule a session?

Yes. If you need to cancel or reschedule, use the link in your confirmation email. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice so your session credit isn’t impacted.

Can multiple people join the same session?

Yes. You’re welcome to invite teammates or collaborators to join the session. Just make sure everyone has access to the base you'll be reviewing and that you’re aligned on the topic you want to cover.

What languages are supported in Ask an Expert sessions?

At this time, Ask an Expert sessions are conducted in English only.

Can I record my session?

You're welcome to record your session for internal use, but please inform your Airtable Expert at the beginning of the session if you plan to do so.
