What happens when I downgrade from 1 paid plan type to another or to a Free plan?
After downgrading your workspace plan from 1 paid plan type to another or to a Free plan, you may lose access to certain features, and limits will change.
Downgrading your plan does not delete your existing data. However, suppose your base exceeds your new plan's limits, with things like records or storage capacity, you won't be able to add new records or attachments until you reduce usage below your plan's availability. All your existing data remains accessible, but some features may become read-only or unavailable until you upgrade again or adjust your base.
Why was my plan downgraded without requesting a change in plan type?
Workspace plans are automatically downgraded from a paid plan to a Free plan if the payment method on file is declined and the payment is 14 days past due. After an initial attempt to charge your payment method, we send an email to the workspace Owner informing them that the charge was declined and requesting that they update their payment method.
After the 14 days, your plan is downgraded to a Free plan, and a downgrade confirmation email is sent to the workspace Owner. To resolve this, restore access to your previous plan and features, you’ll need to update your payment method and upgrade your workspace to your intended workspace plan.

FAQs
Can a workspace be set to auto-downgrade from a paid to a Free plan at a specified date?
No. Airtable plans renew automatically, whether on a monthly or annual billing cycle. While it's not possible to auto-downgrade a workspace after its billing cycle, if you downgrade a workspace from a paid plan to a Free plan, the downgrade will only take effect at the end of the billing cycle. You can set an auto-downgrade to occur at the end of the current billing period.
We recommend setting up a calendar reminder to downgrade the workspace before the end of the current billing cycle to avoid being invoiced for a paid workspace plan.
